WHAT TYPE OF MUSICAL SERVICES WOULD YOU RECOMMEND FOR A WEDDING IN TORONTO?
We highly recommend our popular band + DJ wedding packages. These packages offer a seamless flow of music throughout the course of an evening and cover music for your ceremony, cocktails, dinner and dancing.
HOW MANY HOURS DO TORONTO WEDDING BANDS PLAY DURING A WEDDING RECEPTION?
Most of our bands play 3X, 45 minute sets of music over a 3-4 hour time period. Some of our smaller bands (solo performers, jazz trios, strings etc.) can play 1 or 2, 60 minute sets for ceremonies or cocktail hour.
WHAT'S THE TYPICAL INSTRUMENTATION FOR YOUR BANDS?
Our bands vary in size depending on the event and budget for musical services. Smaller ensembles include a rhythm section and vocalist and larger ensembles add horns and percussion. Our typical wedding band is a 7 piece ensemble which includes female lead vocals, trumpet, saxophone, keyboards, guitar, bass and drums.

All of our musicians, bands and DJs can easily accommodate song requests. Our DJs can take as many song requests as needed and our bands and musicians can take up to two song requests (not on our master list) free of charge. If you’d like more than two song requests performed live then the price is $100 extra per song plus applicable taxes.
WHAT DOES THE BOOKING PROCESS ENTAIL?
First one of our booking agents will discuss the details of your wedding or event and create a personalized quote with a few options and recommendations. If you are happy with the quoted services and would like to move forward then we put the services on hold for the requested date and draft a contract. We require a 50% deposit with the signing of the contract in order to book the date. We can meet in person to go over everything or if it’s easier we can email you the contract and you can sign and mail it back with the cheque to our business address. The other option is to scan and sign back the contract as well as send an email money transfer (preferred). The remaining balance of 50% must be paid to the bandleader on event day or sent out out a week prior to the event.

ARE ALL OF YOUR PRICES FINAL?
Yes, our prices are final. We may be flexible on a case by case basis depending on exact timing, location, band size, package type & specific details.
DO YOU CHARGE FOR OVERTIME?
Yes, subject to availability of our musicians. Our over time prices are $100 per hour per member plus applicable taxes. Members include Musicians, DJs and Audio Technicians. The maximum over time is one extra 45 minute set of music.
DO YOU TRAVEL OUTSIDE OF TORONTO?
Yes, we can travel anywhere in Canada. We charge additional travel fees depending on the location. The travel fees will be provided in your personalized quote.
Prices for travel typically range between $500 and $2000 depending on the proximity from Toronto and services provided.
DO YOU DO DESTINATION WEDDINGS?
Yes, extra fees for travel, permits, food and accommodation will be charged depending on the location.
DO YOU PERFORM SITE VISITS?
Yes, our Audio/Visual team and bandleaders can perform site visits if needed.
WHAT IF ONE MUSICIAN GETS SICK OR CAN'T MAKE IT ON EVENT DAY?
We have a large collective of professional musicians that can easily sub in for one another if necessary.
DO YOU HAVE LIABILITY INSURANCE?
Yes, we have all the necessary insurance coverage for any venue. Ritz Carlton, Four Seasons, Trump Hotel etc.
DO YOU CHARGE TAX?
Yes, we are required to charge 13% HST for all of our services.
HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN DOING THIS FOR?
Toronto Jazz Collective has been in business since 2012 and our musicians and DJs have been in the industry for over 10 years.
HOW CAN I SEE THE BAND LIVE?
We can host private client shows at our rehearsal studio at Front and Sherbourne. Contact us to schedule a private show. For now, check out our live videos on our media page to get an idea of what the bands sound like.
DO YOU PROVIDE AUDIO EQUIPMENT?
Yes, we have an incredible full service Audio/Visual team that can provide all the necessary audio equipment. All of our pricing includes our standard audio/visual package. For an additional fee we can also provide you with lighting, video, staging, tenting and extra mics for speeches. If you’d like pricing for these additional services then we can send them out via email upon request.
DO YOU PLAY CLASSICAL MUSIC?
Yes, our string ensembles and solo pianists can play a wide range of classical music. We can provide you with a list of classical repertoire via email upon request. Repertoire will depend on which ensemble you choose. i.e. Strings VS Solo Piano or Guitar.
